| The wines of Château Villars owe their personality to soils of clay and limestone. While the clay lends them their power and depth, the limestone does a great job of regulating the water supply available to the vine., This is "Grand Vin", it is the flagship wine, matured 100 percent in French oak barrels. 20 hectares of our vineyards, comprising the estate’s oldest vines, are dedicated to its production. The 2018 harvest was the dream of each winemaker: a calm harvest, from day to day, according to the ripeness of the grapes, no stress…! A vintage which belongs to the family of the «Outstanding Ones», like 2010 or 2005., In the nose, Château Villars shows great freshness, floral or fruity and a touch of spices. On the palate it unfolds into powerfully crafted, very elegant tannins. This wine gains in complexity as it ages and can be kept in the cellar for 10 to 20 years |
