The tradition of the winery Kruger-Rumpf is quite old. It was founded in the 1790’s. Like most vine-growers at the time, the family sold the majority of their grape production to larger houses or cooperatives. This practice continued until 1984 when Stefan Rumpf kept most of their harvest to produce their own estate wines., Today the winery is driven by Stefan’s two sons, Georg is responsible for the production and Philipp takes care of marketing and sales. Both studied Oenology in Geisenheim and brought the winery to the next quality level. The winery is located in the small village Münster-Samsheim in the wine growing region “Nahe”. The Nahe region is a peaceful landscape of vineyards, orchards and meadows interspersed with cliffs and striking geological formations and one of the smaller German wine regions with its extraordinary range of soil types. For this reason, the region produces quite diverse wines from relatively few grape varieties. Smooth an fruity Pinot blanc style. Low in accitiy but fresh on the palate.
